InuYasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale (犬夜叉 戦国お伽合戦 Inuyasha: Sengoku Otogi Kassen, lit. Inuyasha: Warring Kingdoms Entertaining Engage) is a 2D fighting game based on the manga and anime series InuYasha. It consists of battles and minigames in an effort to retrieve shards of the sacred Jewel of Four Souls, essentially following the overall plot of the series. It is developed by Dimps and published by Bandai.

The game was officially released on 5 December 2002 at 23:00 JST in Japan and 14 April 2003 at 21:00 EST in the United States of America.

The game makes use of a simple fighting game engine developed by Dimps; the control scheme is often standard for most 2D plane fixed-floor fighters (e.g. Street Fighter), only nearly every command is mapped to one button (such as a dash button, a weak and strong attack button, and a button for special moves). This very setup is also used in games such as Shaman King: Spirit of Shamans (also developed by Dimps). Combo strings are also available with varying branched-inputs.

However, in combat, each character has around three special moves mapped to the square button by default (neutral, then in either forward, back or down) but each character has varying inputs for each; one special move in their movelist for story mode purposes, can also knock off a held jewel shard their opponent is carrying on their person and thus allowing them to move over and pick it up. All characters however, can also use a super move when their blue bar is full, often done with two directions ending with square.

In the story mode, shards dropped by opponents can be picked up as aforementioned, which gives a huge boosting fill to the Super meter. However, depending on the character and their affiliation, shards cannot be picked up normally by all characters and must be converted first by waiting for a moment or getting hit by the shard at any point (which inflicts no damage), only then it will change to the color respective of the character's affiliation. Purple shards cannot be instantly picked up by good characters (e.g. Inuyasha and Kagome) while blue shards cannot be picked up by evil characters (e.g. Naraku and Kagura).
