I'll Help You, But.. is the 26th chapter of the InuYasha manga.
Synopsis[]
- Inuyasha and Sōta rush to save Kagome from the Noh Mask.
- After saving Kagome, Inuyasha and the Noh Mask start to battle.
Summary[]
- Sōta Higurashi and Inuyasha run after Kagome, who is being pursued by the Noh Mask. Sōta has a drop of Kagome's blood on his hand, and Inuyasha reminds the boy he has a sharp sense of smell. He'll track her down and save her. Sōta wonders how this brave guy can be the same "Arrogant, Selfish, Stubborn, Misogynist, Violent, Angry, Stupid, Narrow-minded, Dog-Breathed Jerk!" that Kagome describes. Sōta thinks to himself Inuyasha always does the right thing, and he knows he can trust him.
- Kagome has ran to a construction site to escape the Noh Mask. She comments that it's a very slow beast. The Noh Mask attacks her, but Inuyasha arrives and saves her with his iron reaver. Kagome is happy to see the Hanyō, but he says he'll help her but only if she gives him an apology for when she kicked him down the well. Kagome had forgotten and innocently asks if he really got mad about it. Inuyasha is flabbergasted she forgot about it. Kagome apologizes to Inuyasha and he still acts a bit reserved, concerned it didn't mean anything to her.
- Inuyasha faces Noh Mask, calling it ugly. Kagome reminds him it has shards of the jewel in its forehead. Noh Mask explains it was carved from the trunk of an ancient Bohdi tree, which had a shard of the jewel embedded in it centuries ago. Now it just wants a physical body, and it needs more human flesh to get a suitable one. Inuyasha attacks the mask, but it reforms around him, biting his arm.
