Summary[]
- Miroku hides Tōshū in a hut and covers it with sacred sutras so he will be protected from Ryūjin. The monk tells Tōshū not to leave the hut, for his own safety. Inside the hut, Tōshū uncovers Dakki and feels that the sword is agitated by something. Myōga asks why Inuyasha is hesitating. He came here to defeat Dakki and steal its powers; why not take the blade out of Tōshū's hands and destroy it right now? Inuyasha replies that he's no thief. Miroku concurs with the flea, it's certainly safer to steal it than facing the blade in battle, however he remembers that Tōshū said Dakki hasn't absorbed any demons' energy yet, so there'd be no point in stealing it now.
- Ryūjin suddenly appears, and Inuyasha uses the windscar, but the attack is repelled by Ryūjin's shield. Ryūjin says he knows they're hiding Tōshū from him and they should give him up. Inuyasha and Ryūjin do battle, but Inuyasha's Windscar cannot make a dent on Ryūjin's scaled shield. Ryūjin's boasts that the more demonic energy is thrown at the shield, the stronger it gets. He claims with this shield, and Dakki in his hand, he'll be invincible. Ryūjin is able to push Inuyasha back with his pure strength, but then the demon notices the sacred sutras on the hut behind them, and realizes that Tōshū must be hiding there. He shouts to Tōshū that if gives him Dakki, he'll spare the swordsmith his life. Kagome and Miroku implore Tōshū not to come out. Tōshū wonders what he should do.
