Moryomaru's Target is the 402nd chapter of the InuYasha manga.
Synopsis[]
- Inuyasha fights with Meiōjū, and his Kongōsōha and Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga prove useless against Meiōjū's shell.
- Meiōjū reveals himself from his shell and tells Inuyasha to attack him with his diamond spears.
Summary[]
- Meiōjū reiterates what he said before: Inuyasha can try his diamond spears, but they will surely fail. Inuyasha decides to try anyway, shooting diamond fragments at Meiōjū. The turtle yōkai simply withdraws into his shell and spins around, deflecting all of the spears. Watching nearby, Byakuya says Meiōjū's shell is quite impressive, and said to be harder than any other demon. Meiōjū boasts of his strength and asks Inuyasha if he understands his true power now; his shell is unbreakable. Meiōjū fires energy attacks at Inuyasha, and Miroku notes these attacks are much stronger than before because Meiōjū's shell is now complete. Sesshōmaru deduces that Mōryōmaru must be planning to absorb Meiōjū into his own body.
- Inuyasha, frustrated that Kongōsōha failed, turns the Tessaiga into the Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga, but his friends warn him not to, as he was unable to control that power before. He swings his sword, but the attack fails, and Inuyasha's hands get burned like they did last time he used the technique. Sesshōmaru remarks that Inuyasha seems to have added another new power to the Tessaiga, but Byakuya says it's pointless; no attack Tessaiga has can harm Meiōjū, even the diamond spears are useless. Meiōjū, still in his shell, says he's about to crush Inuyasha, when suddenly he pops his head out of his shell, revealing a weak spot. This confuses the group, as Meiōjū seemed to have the upper hand. Meiōjū orders Inuyasha to attack him with his diamond spears. Miroku warns Inuyasha not to do it, that it's a trap set up by Mōryōmaru to absorb the diamonds into his body, but Inuyasha ignores him and attacks Meiōjū with Kongōsōha.
