  4. Kuroro is eventually allowed to return to the village along with her litter of kittens.

Summary

Kuroro

Kuroro, who is part of Kirara's species except with more black markings, once belonged to a village. She is considered a highly intelligent yōkai who helps the village by exterminating all the rats and mice there. She was chased out, though, when a spiritualist person named Tesso came and said that two-tailed cats were bad fortune.

When a girl named Koume searches for Kuroro, she finds Kirara and mistakes her for her. Villagers attack Kirara before realizing that she is not Kuroro, and the head man tells Inuyasha's team what happened. They are suspicious of Tesso and investigate.

Tesso is really a rat demon who tricked the villagers into throwing Kuroro out so his rats could raid the village. Inuyasha fights Tesso, who withstands his Wind Scar. Meanwhile, Shippō and Koume find Kuroro, before Tesso attacks them, trapping Shippō, Koume, and Kuroro's three kittens inside a cave. Shippō is able to claw his way out of the cave.

Inuyasha faces Tesso again, whose face has healed from Kuroro scratching him earlier, and regenerates his tail when Inuyasha cuts it off. Miroku realizes that the Tesso Inuyasha is fighting is an illusion which the real Tesso is controlling from his hiding place inside a rock. Inuyasha kills Tesso with Wind Scar, destroying the illusion as well.

Kuroro is allowed to return to the village with her kittens and Koume. Inuyasha teases Shippō about being in love with Koume, to which Kagome uses the "Sit" command on him.
