Hey guys! I just figured out an interesting trend/sneaky history lesson Takahashi-san inserted among the continental Chinese-Mongolian moth demons from the first movie: their names are Japonic versions of their Chinese/Mongolian ones! Menomaru and his clan are likely mixed Chinese-Mongolian moths anyway (more Mongol blood I suppose).

Ruri: Ruri's name is a Japonic rendering/version of her possibly Chinese name "Liuli", which means "lazurite" in English, or Mongolian translation, "lazuli".

Menomaru: "Manao" means "agate" in Chinese, "oniks" means "agate" in Mongolian. It would make sense that his Japanese name stem would translate to "Meno" in this case.

Hari: Hari's name in Chinese is "Boli" and means "glass"; in Mongolian her name is " shilien/ shiltei" (glassy).
