Gennosuke (弦之介, げんのすけ) is an illusionary praying mantis yōkai that was created by Yōreitaisei for Inuyasha's yōketsu practice. He disguised as a young boy who saved Inuyasha and his friends from the attacks of people while purchasing medicine for his mother.
Later when Inuyasha learned that his mother was the one who consumed Yōreitaisei's guts and tried to exterminate her, Gennosuke transformed himself as a demon to stop Kagome assisted him defeated the demon.
