This man is the Headman of Gokoku Village and the father of Oharu who had a relationship with a local deity named Mahiruma.

History[]

Together with his daughter Oharu in a pauper state, he came to Gokoku Village while Mahimura was happily sharing the Blessing of the Five Grains, and became the headman of the village as he turned out to be in the employment of the local daimyo with the duty to collect taxes from the villagers. He then out of greed, took the grains after Oharu borrowed them for the villagers and hid them in a secret location. His greed and refusal to hand them back caused his daughter to unsuccessfully attempt fleeing the village with Mahimura and die a few years later, and drive Mahimura to insanity and become Mayonaka.

During the story[]

As the village is attacked by flame bulls summoned by Mayonaka demanding the Blessing of the Five Grains, he requested the help of the Demon Slayers and also hired a shaman to conjure a blizzard to keep the flame bulls away. He tried to hide the reason why Mayonaka attacks the village but had to confess as Kohaku was aware about Mahiruma and asked him to show the Blessing of the Five Grains, and asked the demon slayers not to hand over the Blessing of the Five Grains and not to do anything to Mayonaka that would make him bring more trouble to the village.

After Mayonaka's thread of fate between him and the Blessing of the Five Grains is cut by Setsuna's Yukari no Tachikiri, he was shocked to see the shrine in which was being kept the Blessing of the Five Grains collapse and the grave of his daughter emerge with her body still intact, holding the Blessing of the Five Grains and watches in tears as she and Mahiruma have reunited and ascend to heaven.
