Higurashi wellhouse is where the Bone-Eater's Well, which Kagome Higurashi uses to travel to Feudal era, is located. It also known as the Storehouse.

History[]

600 years ago in the Heian period, since Tōga cut Kirinmaru's right arm and Riku dispatched the arm in the Bone-Eater's Well, as the arm has arrived inside the wellhouse in the Muromachi period as Osamu Kirin has been formed.[1]

The Higurashi family pet cat Buyo wandered into this wellhouse. Kagome was looking for Buyo in the wellhouse since her brother Sōta was too afraid to enter it, and was subsequently pulled into the Feudal era through the Bone-Eater's Well by Mistress Centipede.[2]

Since then, Kagome has traveled between her world and feudal world using the well's time-traveling properties as it was constructed from the infinitely powerful Sacred Tree of Ages.

As Janis came to the wellhouse in the shrine, she saw the signboard says "the Bone Eater's Well" as she thinks it's a scary name, and a Kanji that she tried to translate, like "Sengoku", "Ayakashi", and she thinks it's so many hard Japanese words, can't understand it and asked "Why can't it be in English, too?!".[3]

Sōta, Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi felt the shake from wellhouse means that the Bone-Eater's Well has been disappeared. Sōta, Ms. Higurashi, Grandpa Higurashi, Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi were surprised to hear Inuyasha's voice as he tells them, "Try not to worry. I promise you, I'm going to find her. Just hang on."[4] Three days later after the Shikon no Tama disappeared, the well has been reappeared as Kagome was back with Inuyasha and a family reunion as they were worried about her, but before she thank Inuyasha, he suddenly goes back to feudal era as she can't see him anymore.

Three years later after her graduation from high school, eighteen-year-old Kagome visited the wellhouse to checks the well. But it still not working as ever since her job was done and cannot stop thinking about Inuyasha as he wants to see him so much, when suddenly, she felt the breeze as she saw the sky which means that, as the reincarnation of the topmost-level priestess Kikyō, she decides to return and marry him.[5]

Hanyō no Yasahime[]

Osamu Kirin, the second incarnation of Kirinmaru, have come to the shrine as search for clues of his birth, he saw the Bone-Eater's Well that he came through was covered by the wellhouse (but he thought that longer existed).[6]

Trivia[]

  • The wellhouse has the kanji "" (Inu or "Dog") written on the signboard on top.[7]
