ILY sign is an unusual running gag hand gesture that can be seen in InuYasha. The hand gesture shows the combination of capital "I", "L", "Y", which means "I Love You". Although this hand gesture originated from America, feudal characters like Inuyasha used to show one or two ILY signs during funny awkward moments.[1][2][3] Inuyasha often made this hand gesture, possibly involuntarily, whenever Kagome told him to sit.
Trivia[]
- This hand gesture is commonly used in Rumiko Takahashi's manga works, appearing in Urusei Yatsura, Ranma ½, and Kyōkai no Rinne as well.
