Jinenji's father (地念児の父, "Jinenji no chichi") is an unnamed yōkai who met Jinenji's mother in human form after she had fallen and injured her ankle on a mountain side. He died many years before Jinenji is encountered by Inuyasha and Kagome, but leaves Jinenji and his mother them a herb garden. Although both of Jinenji's parents were attractive (although his mother is now aged), he did not inherit either of their good looks and is instead harassed by the other villagers because of his appearance.

Personality[]

Though due to his only appearance being in his wife's flashback, it made his character largely unknown, but his relationship towards her proved that he at least cared for humans and also for his hybrid son, leaving them both his farm in his will following his demise. Also based on his facial expression, one could easily tell that he's characterized by having a calm, stoic demeanor.

Physical description[]

At first glance, Jinenji's father appeared to be a young man of great beauty with white skin, back-length blue hair, and large crystal blue eyes. He looked like a normal human, however, his body emanated a brilliant light, revealing his supernatural nature.

Trivia[]

  • Jinenji's father and mother's infatuation seems to be one of the onscreen male demon/human woman romances on the show, that results in the conceiving a half demon offspring. Others are Tsukuyomaru and Shizu, and Tōga and Izayoi.
  • It was never stated about what his true form looked like, or what species he might have been, but from his son's appearance he might well look similar to the latter, minus Jinenji's human features.
