Leopard cat yōkai (豹猫妖怪, hyōneko yōkai) are a type of wildcat yōkai, possibly originating from China. A group of these demons, known as the Panther tribe, was led by the Panther King until he was slain by Tōga, the Great Dog General. While this group briefly warred against the demons of Eastern Japan in an attempt to get revenge on Tōga's family, they later retired peacefully in the West after several of their number were saved by Sesshōmaru, Tōga's eldest son.
