Mantis yōkai (妖怪蟷螂, ようかいかまきり) are huge yōkai, who take the form of humans by eating them, and then disguise themselves with their skin. Obviously, they can also create barriers but they are not particularly strong.

Miroku met a mantis yōkai, who had assumed the form of a princess. He killed her with his Wind Tunnel. Later, Inuyasha fought a mantis yōkai, which terrorized a whole clan of peaceful demons.

Another type of mantis yōkai like the praying mantis yōkai, including Gennosuke.

Trivia[]
