This temple used being used by a yōkai disguised a monk. It was on the top of a mountain where many of the villages that were plagued by the where the kumogashira used to be. It was near the memorials of the people who were killed by them as well.
History[]
Inuyasha and his friends take Nazuna after they rescued her. The master of the temple offered to let them spend the night with him. The temple becomes infested by the kumogashira by nightfall and captured Nazuna's master. Inuyasha's group was forced to abandon the temple as a result of him losing his powers during the night of the new moon. Nazuna reached up with them soon after and begged them to rescue her master in the temple. Inuyasha and Shippō returned to the temple after learning that Kagome left the Shikon Jewel shards there. It was soon discovered that the master of the temple was actually a yōkai that disguised himself a ploy to lure Inuyasha and steal the jewel shards. He battled Inuyasha and managed to poison him. Kagome and the Nazuna returned to the temple to discover what happened. They rescued Inuyasha and barricaded themselves in one of the temple rooms at the end of the hall. They were able to hold off the kumogashira by using the yōkai repealing barrier of Tessaiga while it was wedged through the door. The master managed to break through by morning and devoured the jewel shards. He was destroyed by Inuyasha once he regained his powers.
Manga vs. Anime[]
- In the manga, it is unknown what becomes of the temple after the master is destroyed. In the anime, the main temple building is destroyed by the master in his efforts to take the Shikon Jewel shards.

- Its possible the temple was built by humans, but its original owners were killed and it was taken over by Kumogashira to use as a trap.
