New Moon Cave was a cave by the sea in the video game Secret of the Divine Jewel. It would only open at the night of the new moon. It was next to Minatori Village and was home to the Sea God. It was where the cat yōkai Sara resided after her plan to control the villagers from Yamasachi Village failed at her old lair. She abducted Inuyasha's friends until only him and Janis remained. The two of them found them and her. Sesshōmaru arrived soon after and was prepared to fight Sara. He and Janis were able to destroy Sara and free Inuyasha's friends. It was then that the Sea God emerged. He explained that he lost his kamuitama to Sara while he was asleep, and recognized to Sesshōmaru when he was younger with his father Tōga.
Trivia[]
- In Secret of the Divine Jewel, Inuyasha is only able to enter the cave in his human form since the tides is lower as it only opens during the new moon.
- But after the new moon is over, the moon cycle goes the first quarter, full moon, and the last quarter, the tides has risen, which means the cave is closed.
- If the player defeats all the enemies at the Demon Fortress after they have defeated Sara at New Moon Cave, Sesshōmaru will appear and reveal that Gorai is a hanyō. If the player defeats Sara after defeating Gorai at the fortress, then Sesshōmaru will not appear afterwards.
