Raita (らい) is a character introduced in Hanyō no Yashahime.

History[]

After his parents had been killed by yōkai, Raita was taken in and raised by Shiori, along with several other hanyō children, including Fūta.

As a child he met Setsuna, who was new to the Hanyō Hidden Village. They grew up together and spent a lot of time together. Shiori taught them to write, read and do arithmetic while the children became friends.

A few years later, Gaga Gozen and other demons attacked the village when Shiori lost her special powers and could no longer maintain the barrier. Fūta, Setsuna and Raita killed the weaker demons while Setsuna attacked Gaga Gozen. Miroku also came to their aid. However, Setsuna couldn't win the fight until she turned into a pure demon.

Setsuna left the village shortly after this fight, and Shiori told Fūta and Raita that Setsuna was just going first, and that they both had to leave the village soon.

Appearance[]

Raita has tan skin with round ears like a human, blue eyes, and white hair with short bangs. He wears brown clothes with a black and dark blue armor over them, a beige rope as a belt, and white wraps around his forearms and shins.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Enhanced Strength: As a hanyō, Raita and Fūta could hunt and kill a wild boar without using weapons, which a human could not. Since he was a kid then, he's probably gotten a lot stronger since then.

Weapons[]

  • Mini Trident: The mini trident has three spike, the middle spike is above than the other two spikes.
    • Gorogoro (, Thunder): With this attack, his trident can shoot lightning bolts that hit and kill the enemy.

Equipment[]

  • Armor: During their teenage years, both Fūta and Raita wore chestplates to protect the hanyō children from Gaga Gozen's forces.

Relationships[]

Fūta

Fūta is his oldest and closest friend. They almost always do everything together and even fight together. If both really left the village shortly after Setsuna, they probably stayed together anyway.

Setsuna

He made friends with her when she was brought into the village. They were probably close friends, because they spent a lot of time together and fought together. Raita was a little scared to see Setsuna as a pure demon, but quickly accepted it.

Shiori

Shiori raised him and taught him to read, write and do arithmetic. It is possible that he might see her as a maternal figure.
